Nobel Garden - a Deep Cove Treasure

Hosted by: Leona Kolla - Volunteer Gardener

Leona will present and show photos about the history of this once private garden and its evolution from privately owned to ownership by the District of North Saanich. The garden is supported by volunteer labour, not taxpayers money. Under volunteer leadership by Penny Gibbs through the Circular Farm and Food Society, volunteers support garden maintenance and restoration projects, the hosting of special music, art and literature events, workshops such as fruit tree pruning as well as special projects such as the construction of a citrus fruit arbor. Two vegetable beds are dedicated to growing organic vegetables sold at a weekly market held on site through the summer and fall.  Proceeds from the market and all events support garden expenses, equipment and restoration/redevelopment projects.
