A full garden design and build is beyond the means of many of us. It is often said that a new garden is as big an outlay as a new kitchen, with a price tag to match. Understandably, lots of folks don’t want to spend that much and are game to give it a go themselves but lack the know-how or confidence to plan and execute it themselves. Or they have lived with a space for a long time and are stuck in a rut and can’t figure out how to reimagine it.

We’ll focus on the informal process I follow when a highly-detailed, formal design is unnecessary and give you practical tips and resources to follow if you're doing it on your own. We’ll focus on the “how to” as opposed to just looking at pretty pictures of finished gardens. Well, maybe just a few pretty pictures.
